Man shot in home in west Texas shot in shooting rampage, police say

A man was shot in the home of a man who was reported to be armed, and police are searching for a suspect in a second shooting spree in the same area.

A personhunt was launched Wednesday for a man in the town of Bountiful, about 25 miles northeast of Dallas, and an armored vehicle was used to chase him, authorities said.

It’s not clear why the man opened fire, or why he targeted a home.

It was unclear if the shooting was related to a domestic dispute.

Authorities said the man had a gun in the residence.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment and released.

Bountiful police spokeswoman Teri Lohr said a man was killed at the home.

She said the homeowner was not hurt.

The man’s identity was not immediately known.

He is the son of the homeowner, and he lived with the man’s wife.

He lived in the building at the time, but left about three months ago.

He has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a crime of violence, burglary, and armed criminal action.
